For our beloved Norma Shearer, that is. Interred at Forest Lawn Glendale, Norma rests next to her sister-in-law Sylvia Thalberg (who had been married to producer Lawrence Weingarten) and just above her "sweetheart forever", first husband Irving Thalberg. Norma and her second husband, ski instructor Marti Arrouge were neighbors after they moved to the Garden after living at the Beverly Hills Hotel for a decade. He was quiet, handsome, and adored her. She was a kook. Ask Gavin Lambert.

Norma told Cobina that Athole shared the kook gene. In truth, Norma was the stablest daughter- brother Doug was MGM's sound guy, as you know. One of his wives committed suicide on the Santa Monica pier using a shooting gallery gun. Nice.
