You must admit it was weird how it worked out for Brandon Lee.

For Milton Berle, at least.

At least it did for Nancy Walker, who died on this date in 1992. I also liked this.

i know he was short, but
Peter Lorre probably deserved a better location than this six inch square box on the bottom floor, but that was what he chose...a scene from his iconic film "M"and maybe just a little "What's My Line"

Liz maintains her "lucky in love" status (again)
Yep, things can't get worse for Mike Todd on this date, his plane crashing and all. I was surprised at his credits, aren't you?
While Mother is at Mass
First, turn off the Playlist player, hit pause. Then click on the video's play button. I want to introduce you to the work of Craig Hella Johnson, here is his arrangement of "Requiem" by Eliza Gilkyson. Here is the text. I really thought this was unbelivably moving.

Frank wasn't going back in the cage, man
You see, Frank had led a colorful life, being the partner of Al Capone, and all. The final straw was when the Mob decided that he, Frank, should take one for the team in terms of the Feds needing to nail someone for the Mob activity as go-between for the studios and the labor unions. Frank: "no can do".

Very disturbing, depending on how you choose to watch this
Oh, by the way, Susan Hayward died today, in 1975You see, everybody who worked on "The Conqueror" died of cancer of one form or another.
if you require a little cleanser for the palatte, here is some heavy duty scenery eating by Miss Hayward and Bette Davis (not to mention the furniture- chomping of the daughter)
Now Appearing Daily!!! Cobina's vintage beaded jewelry
Go see Kaitlyn and Maria at Animal House, 66 Windward Avenue in Venice, CA. Their phone number is 310 392 5411. They are open from 11 to 7 every day.
Here is the collection again in its' entirety, although Gonxha and Viven Leigh and Aunt Doris have already pilfered a few things, but go for it. We have added key chains as well as eyeglass holders which should hit the gallery by Monday. Stacia, send me your email again, I'd sell it to you wholesale which apparently is French for half retail. It's a really sweet piece.
Shut up, Captain Brown.

The St. Francis Dam Disaster
Most of you have never ever heard of this, and those of you that have don't know the chronology of certain events.
First, meet William Mulholland:Here is the St. Francis Dam:Update: thank god someone actually reads this crap. First, like it says at the bottom of this page, stuff gets put up here without credit some of the time because the internet does not always accurately source the images you enjoy here. It is my pleasure and responsibility to remove anything immediately if asked to. The above photo belongs to:
Pony R. Horton
www.stfrancisdam.blogspot.com
www.gravityarchmedia.blogspot.com
check out his sites, they are very interesting
Pony has also told us that the water pouring out of the center was supposed to do that. Again, I thank you for the correction.
Uh, the thing still exploded and killed hundreds of people so i'm not so sure this design is the one I want to use when they build the dam at Sunset and Laurel Canyon. Cheers! cg
An aerial view:How was Mulholland, not a trained geologist, to know that this soil was not stable? Here is an after picture:There is something wrong with you if that does not take your breath away, even if just a little. Here is the broken Mulholland, who had deemed the dam safe only 24 hours before, inspecting the damage. And as it looks today:

Daisy Bites the Dust
from Time Magazine, Monday March 6, 1933 :
Died. Daisy Canfield Danziger Moreno, 45, California oil heiress, estranged wife of Film Actor Antonio Moreno: of injuries when her automobile ran over the edge of a cliff as her companion, one René Dussac, tried to brighten the headlights in a fog, turned them out instead; on Mulholland Highway, Hollywood.
Instead of divorcing Moreno, her death left him all her wealth. Oooopsy.
So, maybe he had a lot invested in maintaining a positive image. From E.J. Fleming's highly entertaining and perhaps not entirely accurate or true "The Fixers":
The splendid Canfield-Moreno estate, also known as Crestmount:
1920's photo. I know how much you love floor plans:
and aeriel views. Rusty n me had a great time at a wedding here recently.

Just getting you caught up
Monday the 23rd marked the Forty-third passing of comic genius Stan Laurel. Here is a little Ollie and Stan for you: Ok, i thought this was really funny.
Tuesday the 24th marked the fifteenth anniversary of Dinah Shore's passing. Here she is on a recent visit she and I had at Hillside.
Things went from bad to worse
On the 25th things got gnarly for James Coco. Here is a snippet of his work from "Murder by Death"; his companion is James Cromwell
